Get ready for International Geodiversity Day!
On 6 October, we will celebrate International Geodiversity Day, and this year’s theme will be ‘One Earth, Many Stories’.
The 2025 theme offers the opportunity for all of us to connect with geodiversity. Reflecting on ‘One Earth, Many Stories’, people are encouraged to look out for examples of geodiversity in their lives, from the landscapes where they live to the fossils collected in museums. Hosting the records of the 4 billion years of history of our planet, geological diversity allows us to explore the origins of our environment and landscapes, while also providing insights on how to prepare and respond to threats such as climate change.
