Join HoliSoils at Ecology of Soil Microorganisms 2025

The upcoming Ecology of Soil Microorganisms event will gather leading experts to explore world of soil health and microbial networks in Helsinki, Finland, from 15 to 19 June 2025. The rich agenda features many speakers and poster presenters from the HoliSoils’ consortium.
On Monday 16 June, Session 2 on forest and peatland soils will be chaired by Petr Baldrian (Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences) and Taina Pennanen (Luke). The same day, poster session 3.1. on microbial networks and habitats, chaired by Anne Winding & Bartosz Adamczyk, will include interventions on:
- Dynamics of fungi and bacteria in soil and what they tell about the microbiome function with Petr Baldrian (Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences);
- Biochemistry’s support to microbiology with Bartosz Adamczyk (Luke);
- Soil disturbances effects on GHG emissions, organic carbon pool and microbial community in drained peatland forest with Qian Li (Natural Resources Institute Finland / Luonnonvarakeskus).
On Wednesday 18 June, poster session 9 on European soil health, biodiversity, and sustainable management (chaired by Guusje Koorneef) will feature a contribution about microbial and biogeochemical responses to root exclusion across diverse European forests by Tijana Martinović (Institute of Microbiology of the Czech Academy of Sciences).
The event will also include an excursion hosted by HoliSoils in one of its test sites, offering hands-on insights into soil health and sustainable management practices.
