Join the SOILSCAPE project: a call for stakeholders to promote soil health in Europe

The UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe invites stakeholders to collaborate on the EU-funded SOILSCAPE project, an ambitious initiative under the Horizon Europe Mission “A Soil Deal for Europe”. This 4-year project aims to foster soil health by 2030, bringing together expertise from diverse fields to raise awareness and encourage innovative solutions for soil conservation.
The SOILSCAPE project highlights the importance of preserving soil through creative and collaborative approaches. By integrating soil sciences with art-based initiatives, the project seeks to engage civil society, cultural and creative industries, scientists, decision-makers, and other key actors in promoting soil health and its role in environmental sustainability.
UNESCO, a SOILSCAPE partner, is leading the effort to connect with stakeholders through its extensive networks. These include National Commissions, World Heritage sites, Biosphere Reserves, Global Geoparks, Creative Cities, and institutions linked to its educational and cultural programmes. Stakeholders involved in soil conservation, education, cultural heritage, or art-based initiatives are encouraged to contribute their expertise and insights to the project.
Participating stakeholders will play a key role in fostering a Soil Literacy movement across Europe, gaining opportunities to engage with an international network. Contributors will also be informed about relevant project activities, such as conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and funding opportunities through Open Calls.
